Please protect me O God ( Paripahi )

Sloka: ( Kshoneepathe )

Saddened after hearing the decision of King Yudhishtira and his brothers, the doe-eyed daughter of King Drupada went to Krishna displaying her long loose tresses that were a reminder of the ignominy she suffered at the hands of her enemies and spoke thus.

Draupadi: ( Paripahi )

Please protect me O God,
Save me, save me, my dear Krishna;
To end my woes I bow at your
lotus feet, you Supreme Being

To carry the message from my husbands
why are you in a hurry to leave?
The sad tale that I have to tell,
kindly hear that too, O Lord

Long ago in that chamber full of men
when the evil acts of that foul-mouthed
Dussasana caused me much sorrow,
O Omniscient, you were the one who saved me.

O Destroyer of woes, O Lord, please listen
O Kesava, before you proceed
please see my tresses that have been
undone by that heartless fiend who is my foe.
