THIRANOTTAM, a fraternity of art-lovers of the traditional art forms of Kerala, is a not-for-profit organization formed and functioning for the promotion of these art forms and the artistes. Thiranottam’s purpose and activities are to increase awareness and comprehension of classical performing arts of Kerala by conducting appreciation sessions, organising stage shows of renowned professional artistes and providing a platform for the young and promising talents.

Thiranottam was officially formed on 26th January 2007, and was inaugurated by Sri. Kalanilayam Unnikrishnan, a renowned Kathakali musician. We conduct two show events every year; Utsavam in UAE and Arangu in Kerala, showcasing Keli,Melappadam, Kathakali, Koothu, Koodiyaattam, Thayampaka, Classical Music, Seminars and Workshops.

As a contribution to the growth of these art forms, Thiranottam also sponsor and promote promising young Kathakali talents. The purpose is to provide adequate exposure to a chosen artiste per year, leading to enhancement of his/her experience and career. It also extends all possible help to those unfortunate artistes whose fate force them to live in penury.

Thiranottam has been an ever evolving medium, bringing about newer and richer concepts viz. Kathakali Shilpashala which was set into motion in 2010, Kaliyogam slated to be launched from this year 2011, et al. to fulfill its mission.

"To increase awareness and comprehension of classical performing art forms of Kerala and render all possible muscle, not only to stop the decay of these art forms but also anoint them to their rightful place in the cultural fabric of Kerala by providing the stage to maestros as well as promising young talents."
