Keleeravam, along with Kalakshetra, the premier dance institute of Chennai, is bringing together a spectacular evening of Kathakali performance, at the "Rugmini Arangam" auditorium on March 10, 2012. The Kathakali will be preceded by a lecture demonstration explaining the story to be enacted.

Keleeravam, a global community of Kathakali enthusiasts belonging to the Facebook "Kathakali" group, was inaugurated in a big way on Dec 17, 2011. This is the second Kathakali event of the organization, and the first outside Kerala. In this performance of the popular "Nalacharitham Onnam Divasam" Kathakali, legendary Kathakali actor Kalamandalam Gopi comes in the role of Nalan, while another important character, Hamsam, will be donned by veteran actor Sadanam Balakrishnan.

This event has borne fruit as a result of incessant work done by the enthusiastic Chennai Keleeravam team - Muraly Varrier, Sajeesh Areeppurath, Vaidyanathan Ananthakrishnan, Manoj Mangalath and others - and promises to be a memorable evening to remember for the art enthusiasts of Chennai.
