After Bheema ended his public ridicule of the Kourava chief on being counselled by Yudhishtira, Duryodhana reached his palace shameful, silent and with a bowed head, and spoke thus to Sakuni.
Duryodhana:
O my most loving uncle, listen to me carefully
about the agony that is weighing me down
Yudhishtira’s palace frightens with foes Bheema and Arjuna
I boarded it hastily as if into a spectacular airplane
And what did I see! Housing beautiful objects,
it was clean and expansive,
decorated with rare jewels
and protected by strong soldiers
Watched by a crowd of the best of men
and in front of my enemies
I fell in a daze on the beautiful floor,
and got completely drenched in water
Then Bheema my foe ridiculed me,
and in front of all the good people there
Parshathi went on laughing;
Oh! my heart is burning.
