Rama, who became happy in hearing Sugreeva’s words, tossed away the corpse of Dundhubi with his big toe which slightly boosted the confidence of the monkeys. Yet, to test Rama’s strength conclusively, Sugreeva spoke thus.

O comrade Raghava, please hear my words

Dundubhi’s body was thrown away
by the strong Bali that day

Though you too did that today
I do not have full confidence in you

My brother Bali, the strongest and bravest,
to exercise his powerful arms
used to thrash on these seven trees
and satisfy his itching palms

One of these trees with tall branches
you must thrash to the ground

To do this without any hesitation
