In the full moon that made the water lilies

English

In the full moon that made the water lilies smile with a dewdrop on their lips, the night when the flowers sown over the silk bedspread withered, Urvaśi saw a face in the moon.

Why her grace full gaits ornamented with bells stepped un-rhythmically? Why she threw away her pillow that was embraced by her? Why the blue of her eyes turned into red by dropping tears?

Was that bow, or arrows or quiver or figure or his feet able to fight and dance as well or his arms able to shoot thousands of arrows at once made her sad?

Oh my husband the merciful! I worship your feet

English
Sloka:

Hearing her husband's words, the wise lady prepared flakes of rice with the paddy which is a mixture of small stones, mud too, that she got begging house to house in that night itself. Holding it she approached her husband and told with utmost devotion.

"Oh my husband the merciful! I worship your feet.
The offering to the lotus- eyed Sree Krishna may please be accepted.

Taking the flakes of rice with stone and mud,

The Lotus eyed! Oh my wife

English

"Oh my wife! The Lotus eyed! What you told is truth only.

To see Krishna, the charioteer of Arjuna,I am going tomorrow. As wealth leads to quarrel only, covet not for it.

The seeing of Sree Krishna, having hair of clouds colour, itself leads us to salvation, I think my dear.

When seeing the master of Universe we should place some offering before him. Oh my full moon-like shining faced one! Do not have any hesitation.

O comrade Raghava, please hear my words

English
Sloka:
Rama, who became happy in hearing Sugreeva’s words, tossed away the corpse of Dundhubi with his big toe which slightly boosted the confidence of the monkeys. Yet, to test Rama’s strength conclusively, Sugreeva spoke thus.

O comrade Raghava, please hear my words

Dundubhi’s body was thrown away
by the strong Bali that day

Though you too did that today
