In the forest filled with lady-lions, Panchali who fell in the trap of Simhika and nence, fearful, cried with utmost faith in her husbands.

 

What could I do, Oh! God, what could I do

The one who cries in terror – that me –

this carnivore  – before she eats me –

would you appear – hearing the cries – Hey by husbands!

 

Dharmaputra, the one who who walks in the path of Dharma,

The hand-some, demoness came and

is now ruthlessly taking me away –

Crickets making noise  here–

my body is shivering – for sure,

we shall return, shall we, friend?

 

[Lalitha forcefully holds the hand of Panchali.  Panchali struggles,somehow get released and continues.]

 

Leave, Leave me, you with flickering eyes ,

Cheating me you are – Why? – by telling lies!!

Hey, beuty, friend, listen to my words –

Oh!  In my right, some movements happen – Some bad omen that is.

 

From the right side, wind is blowing –

To the dwelling place – I shall return – for sure.

 

To glance at – So horrendous – this forest – look at it .

Drupada King, his lucky daughter – I am –

you please know that .

Due to ill-fate we stay here, hey lovely –

in this intolerable forest land.

 

Land-Lord idols – five such people are here –

I am their wife – please know that properly. 

 

In river Ganges , along with Guru –

after rendering the dusk prayers – they would come back.

Hey lion-man, the one who bears Disc (chakram),

Krishna, save me, hey the Mura’s foe.

 

Hey the one with the complextion of blue lotus,

your tricks these are – hey, the immeasurable.

 

The pot given by sun-god – see this – without food

To feed you  even a bit, there is no food – this is true

Sloka:

Then the Rishi went to take dip in River Ganges eagerly and Panchali, seeing that the devine pot no food left for the day, wept in fear.

 

What to do? Oh! God!

What to do?

 

Foodless – this pot has become –

Why has this happened now?

 

In River Ganges, after taking bath, the great Rishi –

will ask for food  to me without delay  –  what to do then?

 

In this world amongst ladies – am the most ill-fortuned –

Sloka:

Listening to the words of husband, the one who eliminates the worries of the worried and kind hearted one, Draupadi spoke these words

 

Hey husband, If I think, what could be more-

sad than this, today, here, for me?

 

Hey peace-minded, and the shine of Shantanu’s Lineage,

what is not known to you, hey the ocean of mercy!

 

All those can be taken in, even then,

there is another concern that keeps growing, please hear that.

 

Panchali took the divine flower, which was supposedly brought by the God of Wind (Vayu Deva) out of affection, and which attracted the bees due to its fragrance. She came near Bheema and happily told him thus.
