English

O Narada, great sage, good-natured

English
Sloka:
Ravana greets Sage Narada, the son of Brahma, pays obeisance to him, offers him a seat and spoke to him with folded hands.

Ravana: (Narada mahamune)

O Narada, great sage, good-natured
without delay I bow at your feet.
Where are you coming from, tell me,
the news about Indra didn’t you hear?

My mighty son took Indra captive in battle

Glory to you Ravana, King of Lanka

English
Sloka:

Sage Narada, after appraising Bali of his plan, arrives at Ravana’s court with a big smile and starts praising him.

Glory to you Ravana, King of Lanka
glory to you the king of demons
glory to you the son of Kaikasi
glory to you the son of Poulasthya.

Glory to you the brother of Kumbhakarna
glory to you the brother of Soorpanakha

O Ravana, please listen to me

English
O Ravana, please listen to me, virtuous king
O Cupid-like husband, hearing your words.

My mind fills with growing happiness
Scared of your great prowess
all celestial damsels, including Urvasi,
shed their pride and shyness on seeing me
and sincerely prostrate before me.
