Alas! O God! what shall I do?

Sloka:

As Krishna and Arjuna stayed happily together in Dwaraka, a Brahmin suffered the deaths at birth of his eight children in eight years. When the ninth son also died, the Brahmin came to the royal court with the dead body of the infant and wailing loudly spoke thus.

Alas! O God! what shall I do?

Alas! Who is there to help me?

 

There is no peace in all the worlds

for a man with no sons, it’s certain, O God

 

This night shining in full moon light

Sloka:

Hearing about Urvashi’s curse and resultant trouble caused to Arjuna, Indra came and consoled the former

Do not be sad, now, hey great one, the lamp of Manu dynasty.  Be courageous in mind.  This curse shall be rendered appropriate and in your favour

The Urvashi-delivered curse – would be of use to you – hey, the gem of earth and the one who kills the pride of foes

During the period of exile, you shall undergo this curse – hey learned one, no doublt about that

 

Hi friend, listen to my words

Sloka:
The dearest friend of Urvashi, listening to the words of The first among angelic call-girls, and the one who was attracted by the son of Lord Indra, replied thus.
 
Hi friend, listen to my words, now, the noblest and auspicious one
The most honorable and valorous, the ideal man, the generous one he is.
 
If he comes, your joining with the appropriate – and so is your love for him
 
But, without knowing his mind, do not perceive acts of eroticism

Arjuna, may you be victorious
